Cut a fairly wide lid from the top of a large pumpkin and scrape out all the seeds and strings

Butter, salt and pepper the inside and place without the lid in an oven preheated to 350F

Bake for 40 minutes and be sure to use a long ladle to empty the liquid that will accumulate on the inside of the pumpkin, otherwise it may collapse. Brown the ground sirloin and onion in a skillet

Now add the sirloin and onions and all other ingredients and bake for about another hour adding just enough water to keep moist

Salt and pepper to taste

Serve the entire pumpkin and be sure to spoon out the cooked walls of the pumpkin when serving.
BAKED STUFFED PUMPKIN
ingredients
- 1 large pumpkin
- 3 tablespoons margarine or butter
- salt to taste
- 2 cups corn, fresh or canned
- 2 cups chopped green beans
- 1 pound ground sirloin
- 2 onions
- 2 peeled and cubed peaches
- 1 cup cooked chicken meat
- 1 cup hulled, toasted sunflower seeds
- 1 cup chopped green bell pepper
