    Peel, core, and chop apples

    In a large saucepan or ket- tle bring chopped apples and cider to a rapid boil

    Reduce heat and simmer until apples are soft and pulpy, about 20 minutes

    Strain pulp through a sieve

  • 5

    Blend sugar into hot pulp

  • 6

    Mix in spices

  • 7

    Pour into a casserole dish or baking pan

    Cover loosely with foil

  • 9

    Bake in 400F

    oven for 1 hour

    Stir frequently until apple butter is thick enough for spreading

    Pour into sterilized jars and seal

  • 13

    Process in boiling water bath for 15 minutes.
