Shred cabbage

Chop chile (remove stems and seeds) and onion very fine

Add to cabbage and salt to taste

Mix vine- gar and water, sweetened to taste, and stir in well with small amount olive or cooking oil

Pour over cabbage mix- ture and refrigerate for an hour before serving.

- 1/2 cup each white wine vinegar and water
- olive or vegetable oil
- sugar, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or vegetable oil
