Cut rabbit into serving pieces

Place in a large saucepan and brown meat in lard or oil. Add remaining ingredients and simmer, covered, for 1- 1/2 hours or until meat is tender. Add commeal gradually to pan, blending thoroughly

- 1 medium sized rabbit
- 2 tablespoons lard or vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, peeled and diced
- 2 quarts water
- 1 cup white wine vinegar
- 3 teaspoons ground red chili
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup cornmeal (blue or yellow)
