Trim fat from steak and place in a large shallow dish

Combine red wine, lime juice, garlic powder and cumin and pour over steak

Cover and marinate in refrigerator 24 hours, turning steak occasionally. To make salsa combine tomato, bell pepper, chili, onion and cilantro in a medium bowl

Set aside. Remove steak from marinade and rotate in the Flat Standard Basket 15 minutes for medium rare

Cut steak diagonally across grain into thin slices

Combine lettuce, steak and cheese in a large bowl; toss gently

Divide evenly among six serving plates and top each with 1/3 cup salsa

WARM FAJITA STEAK SALAD
ingredients
- 1 pound lean top sirloin or flank steak
- 1 /4 cup dry red wine
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 2 cups seeded, diced fresh tomato
- 1 small green or yellow bell pepper, diced
- 1 jalapeno chili, seeded and diced
- 2 tablespoons diced purple onion
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh cilantro
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 6 cups torn romaine lettuce
- 1/2 cup (2 ounces) shredded extra-sharp cheddar cheese
