Wash and dry lettuce and cut up into bite-sized pieces

Saute the sausage in a skillet over low heat for about twelve to fifteen minutes, turning often to make sure it is evenly browned

Remove the sausages from the skillet and drain

Reserve about eight tablespoonfuls of the fat from the sausages and mix it with lemon juice

Add salt and sugar

Put the lettuce pieces into a bowl

Cut up the sausage links into one-inch bits and add to lettuce

Pour the dressing over all, and then toss.

- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons sugar
