    Make spaghetti and set aside

    To make meatballs, place beef, parsley, Parmesan cheese, tomato paste and egg in a bowl, and mix to combine

    Form mixture into small balls and cook in a non-stick frying pan for 4-5 minutes or until brown

    Remove meatballs from pan and drain on paper towel

    To make sauce, melt butter in a large frying pan and cook onion, basil and oregano for 2-3 minutes or until onion is soft

    Stir in tomatoes, tomato paste, beef stock, wine and sugar

  • 7

    Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 30 minutes or until sauce reduces and thickens

    Season to taste with black pepper

    Add meatballs to sauce and cook for 5 minutes longer

    Cook spaghetti until al dente, drain, and transfer to a heated serving platter

    Top with meatballs and sauce

  • 12

    Serve immediately.

  • 1 full load of pasta dough made into spaghetti
  • CHEESY MEATBALLS
  • 1 pound ground sirloin
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 teaspoons tomato paste
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • TOMATO SAUCE
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 (14 ounce) can of tomatoes, undrairied and mashed
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste (puree)
  • 1/2 cup beef stock
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • freshly ground black pepper to taste
