    Make macaroni and set aside

  • 2

    Cook beans slowly in 3 quarts of water until tender

    Add more water as needed; set aside

  • 4

    Using oil or bacon, saute onion and garlic until light brown

  • 5

    Add tomatoes and simmer for 10 minutes

  • 6

    Add to cooked beans

  • 7

    Meanwhile cook macaroni until al dente, drain thoroughly and add to bean and water mixture

    Salt and pepper to taste

    Serve immediately.

ingredients

  • 1 full load of pasta dough made into macaroni
  • 1-1/2 cups dried navy beans
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup oil or 6 strips bacon, cut up
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 (14 -1/2 ounce) cans diced tomatoes
