Place cranberries, apple, pear, dried cranberries, sugar, orange juice, zest and nutmeg in a 4-quart saucepan

Bring mixture to a boil

Lower heat and simmer, uncovered, stirring frequently, until fruit is tender and mixture thickens a bit, about 30 to 45 minutes

Cool slightly and stir in the liqueur

Chill for 2 hours or up to 1 week. Yield: 1-1/2 cups SUGGESTED USE: This relish is a nice change from the traditional cranberry sauce

It works well with turkey, of course, but also with chicken and pork.
Cranberry Apple Pear Relish
ingredients
- 12 ounces fresh or frozen cranberries
- 1 apple, peeled and diced
- 1/2 pear, peeled and diced
- 1/2 cup dried cranberries
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 /4 cup fresh orange juice
- 1 /2 teaspoon grated orange rind (zest)
- Pinch nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons Grand Marnier or other orange liqueur
