Preheat oven to 375 degrees

Peel apples and slice into 1/2-inch thick slices

Toss with sugar, flour and cinnamon. Roll and cut pastry to fit an 11 inch tart pan with removable bottom, folding the excess in to make the edges thicker

Fill pastry with the apples. For topping, combine flour, brown sugar, oats, cinnamon and butter in a bowl and rub with fingers to make a crumbly mixture

Sprinkle over apples

Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until apples are tender

Remove to a rack and immediately drizzle the caramel topping over all

Serve warm with ice cream.

ingredients
- 4 medium Granny Smith apples
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 1/2 cup caramel ice cream topping
- Vanilla ice cream
- Topping:
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup rolled oats
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cut up
