    Finely mince green onion

  • 2

    Peel and mince garlic. Combine fish sauce, water and sugar in a small saucepan

  • 3

    Heat over medium low heat stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves and sauce is smooth and slightly thickened

  • 4

    Remove from heat and stir in lime juice, garlic, green onion and red pepper flakes

  • 5

    Cool to room temperature or refrigerate before using.

  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1/3 cup fish sauce
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons golden brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
