Finely dice onion and place in a bowl

Peel and mince garlic and add to onion

Heat oil in a medium saucepan and add onion and garlic. Saute until tender, about 5 minutes

Stir in the chili sauce, chutney, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and mustard

Bring to a boil over medium heat

Reduce heat and simmer about 10 minutes, stirring often, until thickened

Stir in hot pepper sauce and cool to room temperature

Use immediately or cool and refrigerate up to 3 days.
CHUTNEY BBQ SAUCE
ingredients
- 1 medium onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 (12-ounce) bottle ketchup-style chili sauce
- 1 (9 to 10 ounce) jar mango chutney or
- homemade chutney of choice
- 1/3 cup cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1-1/2 teaspoons hot pepper sauce
