Place chilies, wine, green onion and lime juice in a small saucepan

Bring to a boil and continue to cook until mixture is reduced by half

Cool about 5 minutes

Transfer chili mixture to a food processor or blender and puree

Add the cilantro and finely chop

With the machine running add the hot melted butter

Serve immediately. Yield: 1/2 cup SUGGESTED USE: This fairly mild chili sauce is delicious served over cooked shrimp, chicken or even vegetables

If you want a sauce with a bit more zip, add a minced serrano chili to the saucepan from the start.

- 2 (4-ounce) cans diced mild green chilies
- 1/3 cup dry white wine
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
- 1 cup packed cilantro leaves
- 1 /2 cup hot melted butter
