- 11/2 cups whole bran cereal (not bran flakes)
- 1/2 cup boiling water
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup melted butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 cups mixed dried fruit (raisins, chopped dates,
- prunes, or figs)
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour, unsifted
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour, unsifted
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 11/4 tsp. soda
