    Heat oatmeal in a shallow pan at 350 degrees F

    for about 10 minutes

  • 3

    Combine oatmeal, wheat germ, coconut, sugar, seeds, and nuts

    Add oil, honey, and vanilla

  • 5

    Spread on shallow pan

  • 6

    Bake at 350 degrees F

  • 7

    for 20 to 25 minutes, stirring occasional- ly until evenly brown

  • 8

    After cooling, stir until crumbles apart

  • 9

    Add dried fruit to cooled mixture.

ingredients

  • 6 cups quick oatmeal
  • 3/4 cup wheat germ
  • 1/2 cup coconut (flaked or shredded)
  • 1/3 cup sesame or sunflower seeds
  • 1 cup nuts (chopped walnuts or pecans, or peanuts)
  • 1/2 cup salad oil
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup of your favorite chopped, dried fruit
