Brush the salmon steak lightly on both sides with the soy

Grill or broil until almost cooked through, about 3 minutes a side for a steak 1/2-inch thick

Cool slightly; remove and discard outside skin and center bone

Pull salmon into large flakes. Steam the asparagus, covered, on a steaming rack set over 1 inch of simmering water until crisp-ten- der, about 4 minutes

Transfer to a plate; cover to keep warm

Melt the butter in a saucepan and add the garlic and ginger; saute 30 seconds

Add the lemon juice and zest

Toss the hot pasta, asparagus, and melted butter until pasta is coated

Add the salmon and gently toss

Salmon with Asparagus & Lemon Butter
ingredients
- 2 salmon steaks, each about 8 ounces
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1/2 pound asparagus, trimmed, stems peeled, cut
- into diagonals about 2 inches long
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 1 clove garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon grated lemon zest
