    Melt the butter in a saucepan

    Stir in the cheese

    Then add the cream and milk and heat through

    Be careful not to boil

    Just before serving add pep- per and parsley if desired

LOWER-FAT VARIATION 2 cups skim milk 2 tablespoons imitation butter granules 12 wedges low-fat processed cheese, like Laughing Cow 2 tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan cheese Pinch of garlic powder In a medium-sized saucepan or double boiler, com- bine all the ingredients until all is melted and the sauce is velvety smooth, about 20 minutes
