    In a large saucepan combine shredded wheat biscuits (crumbled), grapenuts, sorghum, shortening, brown sugar and salt

    Stir in boiling water

  • 3

    Let stand 10 min- utes

  • 4

    Allow scalded milk to cool to lukewarm and stir in yeast until it's dissolved

    Stir milk-yeast into shredded wheat mixture

    Gradually add flour until dough becomes stiff. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead 8-10 minutes

    Place in greased bowl in a warm location and let rise to double in bulk

    Punch down and shape into three loaves

  • 9

    Place in greased 9x5 loaf pans and let rise to tops of pans

    Bake in moderate (350F.) oven 35- 40 minutes.

  • 3/4 cup shredded wheat biscuits (cereal)
  • 3 teaspoons salt
  • 3/4 cup grapenuts (cereal)
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1/2 cup sorghum molasses
  • 2 cups scalded milk
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2 packages dry yeast
  • 1 /2 cup brown sugar
  • 8 cups all-purpose flour
